Paralegals have often been described as the “glue” that holds a law firm together. The life of a paralegal can be hectic sometimes, mostly because it involves a great deal of multi-tasking to ensure that expert witness testimony has maximum impact.
A paralegal's role in working with an expert witness is crucial in terms of coordination between the attorney and witness when preparing a case for settlement or trial. The ability to select which expert suits the individual case best and which one is the most qualified will benefit the client and ultimately lead to the most favorable outcome. In order to take on such a task, it is critical that paralegals be effective liaisons and demonstrate diligence, organization, communication, and attention to detail.
