EKU Online™ Student Matt Harrison
“I cannot stress enough how impressed I’ve been with EKU."
Student: Matt Harrison, Lexington, KY
Goal: Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Paralegal Science
Matt Harrison chose the paralegal program at Eastern Kentucky University for its flexible, ABA-approved format. He also found it to be more reputable and more economical than comparable programs. His experience as a student has far exceeded his expectations.
The availability of his advisors, the flexibility of the course format and the dedication of faculty have all contributed to his success. He describes his professors as involved, informative and engaging. “As far as the faculty goes, I could not ask for more. They are very personable and willing to work with you.”
Although he is a relatively new student, Harrison is already confident he made the right decision for himself and his family. “I cannot stress enough how impressed I’ve been with EKU,” he said.
EKU’s student-focused approach to education makes a difference to Harrison and others like him. When bureaucracy between his undergraduate alma mater and a student loan company complicated his financial aid options at EKU, Eastern’s employees stepped in and solved the problem.
“The woman in the financial aid office spent 90 minutes with me,” he remembered. “She said, ‘That’s just what we do at Eastern.’ I was blown away.”
“Your concern as an online student is that you are going to remain anonymous,” he explained, “but they have taken steps to eliminate that.”
